This blog explores both historical and current events guided by the thought of the leading thinkers, past and present, of this school or movement of theology. Refer to the Classic Posts, Great and Contemporary Thinkers, various links of all kinds, in addition to the Archives themselves. I agree. I especially enjoy reading John Allen Jr. who is universally respected by all sides (more or less). There is no one like him that I'm aware of that regularly publishes articles from Rome in English. It we were Italian or read Italian it would be different. Regardless of what one thinks (good or bad) about NCR, they do us a service with Allen's columns.

I have to say that I have found a lot to respect in NCR's coverage of the Pope and the Vatican. Like anything else, one has to filter the spin.
