It's begun...
After about one breath of air after he walked out on the balcony, the attacks by the biased liberal media began against Pope Benedict XVI. He's a Nazi, etc. They failed to mention that he was drafted into the German Army out of seminary and then deserted... What I find just as hilarious though is the Whig Thomists' attempt to make him one of their own. Michael Novak has made various appearances (print & t.v.) in the media, but now the Acton Institute has swung into full action with a new article. Has anyone read what he was written about capitalism, materialism and the War in Iraq? In all fairness though, he has commended the U.S. Model of Religious Freedom.

Yeah, as much as I appreciate Michael Novak praising B16, he's saying some pretty goofy things, like the following from his opinion piece in the NYTimes today: "Following Lord Acton and James Madison, Cardinal Ratzinger has written of the need of humans to practice self-government over their passions in private life."
Following Acton & Madison? Who are you kidding? Does he remember the "America is bourgeois" comment by Ratzinger that sparked the debate between the Whig & Augustinian Thomists?
Thanks Chris. I've provided a link to this article in my main post.
