Brilliant article, a great starting point. Mary is important in understanding the great mystery of the incarnation. From a quick glance at this article I suggest that an important meaning for us is in her vision and gaze at the great mystery of Christ. It is a gaze emanating from her heart with its reasons. Could the universally human dimesion that most charaterizes this gaze be found in her virginity? What would Giussani say on this? It appears to me that we could all participate in our own unique way, or better learn from her virginal gaze at the mystery of Christ... and not just a gaze but a friendship.
Yes, yes! One must consider the "gaze" works in both directions. It comes from the Divine. This gaze changes you, it moves you.
The footer on all of my emails for as long as I can remember is "There is a gaze and a heart that penetrates to your very marrow and loves you all the way to your destiny." Luigi Giussani
