This classic article began the whole distinction between Neocon versus Theocon. I highly recommend this article for a good, but not perfect history or description of this debate. It's a beginning point. WordSpy references this article as the first time "Theocon" was used in print.
The book End of Democracy also dives into this topic on a couple of different occasions, specifically the chapter entitled "Neocons vs. Theocons?" Refer to the comments on this post.

I disagree; this article is no good.
Pepe, why?
Ok, I recognize this a New Republic article. You have to read it with a grain of salt. But the fact remains the fact, the term "Theocon" originated from this article and was picked up by others afterwords.
I refer you the book, END OF DEMOCRACY, specifically Part III, Chapter Neocon vs. Theocons?, pgs 143-167. Three different authors deal with this topic from different angles.
