This blog explores both historical and current events guided by the thought of the leading thinkers, past and present, of this school or movement of theology. Refer to the Classic Posts, Great and Contemporary Thinkers, various links of all kinds, in addition to the Archives themselves. Retrieving Rahner & an Interview with Dr. Schindler
Dr. Mark Lowery was one of my professors of theology at the University of Dallas. He has written a number of great articles, but here is one on Karl Rahner. There is a lot to love and hate about the various positions that Rahner promoted, but his thought should not be ignored. John Allen Jr. of the National Catholic Reporter talks about la nouvelle theologie on a regular basis. Here is an article he wrote comparing Rahner and Balthasar. In this same weekly article, Mr. Allen also interviews Dr. David Schindler, the Dean of the John Paul II Institute for Studies in Marriage and Family. Follow the link provided on their page for the complete interview. Dr. Schindler is also the editor of Communio and his personal link at the JPII Inst. is provided for you above. A friend, who himself is a "giant" among great thinkers, argues that Dr. Schindler is "the greateast living American theologian." I highly encourage everyone to read Schindler's writings and verify the truth of this claim.
