A friend asks, "What are [some good] references... explaining the opposition of the Ressourcement Theologians to the pre-conciliar theologians and vice versa?"

Fr. Aidan Nichols outlines the "conflict" in an article in The Thomist (vol. 64, the year 2000, pp. 1-19) which was reproduced in one of his books.
