CONVENTION ON BALTHASAR WORKS AT LATERAN UNIVERSITY
(AGI) - Vatican City, Sept.27 - An international convention to rediscover the personality and works of Hans Urs von Balthasar - "the most cultured man of our century", as his friend H. de Lubac described him - will be held at the Vatican Lateran University on 6-7 Oct, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his birth, organised in collaboration with Rivista Internazionale Communio, to reveal his theological thought, consistently with his works. The convention will be threefold: historic reconstruction of his though; central issues of his theology; works. Speakers will include cardinal Angelo Scola, Patriarch of Venice; cardinal James Francis Stafford; card. Marc Ouellet, Archbishop of Quebec; mons. Rino Fisichella, Professor at the Lateran University; mons. Peter Henrici, auxiliary bishop of the Chur Dioceses (Switzerland), and speakers from the St. John from Basel community, founded by Hans Urs von Balthasar himself.
