We now know administration claims that Saddam Hussein had or was about to acquire nuclear weapons were not true. We know claims of Iraqi ties to al Qaeda were not true. We know administration and military officials who challenged the official line were silenced or forced to resign, and perhaps systematically attacked and undermined - as the facts around this new and serious indictment of a top Bush administration official suggests. Some of this is close to being true, but some of it is BS.
There were Iraqi ties to al Qaeda; we know that to be true. Was Iraq directly involved in 9/11? Not that we know of. But to say that there were simply no ties just isn't so.
As far as what the Plame Affair does or doesn't say, Jonah Goldberg pretty well summed things up in a post I put up at my place.
As far as Harry Reid... well, the fact that Wallis was so impressed by that little stunt yesterday tells me more about Jim than it does about the Senator from Nevada.
