Thomas R. Rourke
Here is a personal note from Dr. Thomas Rourke.
---
My name is Thomas Rourke. I am Professor and Chair of the Department
of Political Science, Sociology and Philosophy at Clarion University
of Pennsylvania.
I ran across your blog via a link from the Ratzinger web page. I
have two books published which address concerns related to Catholic
neoconservatism, personalism, with some considerable focus on issues
of political economy.
The books are:
1. A Conscience as Large as the World: Yves R. Simon
Versus the Catholic Neoconservatives (Lanham, MD and London: Rowman
and Little field, 1997).
2. A Theory of Personalism (Lanham, MD and London: Lexington Books,
2004).
The first book deals directly with the neocons and is a sustained
critique. [It] received favorable reviews, but sadly was almost completely discussed among one group of people I wanted to discuss it, and that was faithful Catholics. (It was reviewed in Catholic World Report).
The second book is broader and is an attempt to articulate a theory of
personalism suited to guide the political and economic worlds. [It] was just reviewed favorably by New Oxford Review.
I thought peopl reading your blog might be interested. I was also
wondering if you might not put at least the second book on your list
of books of interest to your readers. A Theory of Personalism is
readily available from the Lexington Books web cite.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Thomas R. Rourke
