Bush Is Running Out of Alibis

Human Events - Patrick J. Buchanan

Now if we could only trust Buchanan not to backtrack in his next article and come out in support of Bush in some way I'd believe he's really taking a stance here. That notwithstanding, he's right when he says that Bush has no one to blame but himself for the disaster the Iraq aggression has become. Yet we are inveigled by the Weyrichs, Neuhauses, Novaks and Donnellys of the Catholican world to support the murder of countless innocent people while Osama Bin Ladin holds court somewhere in Western Pakistan. I mean, really, are these folks being paid for spouting these opinions? Well, it's been asserted that Rove tool, Deal Hudson, wanted the Vatican ambassadorship in exchange for his roladex before we learned that there were important questions to answer about his partying habits while at Fordam University so I'd believe anything at this point, frankly. It just leaves serious Catholics scratching their heads about the people that have emerged over the last twenty years claiming to represent their point of view. The Evangelicals have Pat Robertson, do we have to have Michael Novak? Oy gevald!
