I was looking forward to reading this substantial article by Elie. It's 21 pages, mostly of text, but a few paintings. I enjoyed his book as I know others did as well therefore maybe my expectations were too high.
Elie did a real hacket job on our current Holy Father and JPII for that matter. I am very dissapointed. He should feel ashamed of himself. 21 pages of pure garbage. I feel like throwing his book in the trash-can or burning it!
I loved Elie's book on Percy/Merton/Day/O'Connor (one could write a rich biography of any one of those persons, but to take on all four is an impressive feat and he pulled it off rather well).
I was likewise disappointed in the article. So did Amy Welborn for that matter.
Hmm, now I see why David Jones has such a problem with democracy. Everything he disagrees with he sees fit for the bonfire. So much for Dignitatus Humanae!

I do think his book is worth saving, however. =)

As Amy Wellborn states, it's a well-written article. Elie is a good writer (no one doubts this), but the content is what we have a problem with.
burning books (flags, CDs, etc) is constitutionally-protected free speech. So, oddly enough is speech about feelings.
