Aggiornamento

Dear Friends,

I am delighted to announce the latest issue of Aggiornamento: Journal of the Institute for Religious and Pastoral Studies. The Journal is located at http://www.udallas.edu/irps/agg/

In this issue we are honored to have contributions from two keynote presenters at the IRPS 2006 Homiletics Seminar.

Renowned Biblical scholar Fr Joseph Fitzmyer SJ writes on the Importance of Sound Biblical Interpretation for Preaching. Sacramental theologian Dr Joseph Martos writes on the Sacramentality of the Homily.

Fr Nathan Stone SJ contributes a challenging paper on our approach to Hispanic Church members, while Sr Dorothy Jonaitis also challenges with her paper on the driving forces behind women's theology.

IRPS students Ellen Mechler and Michael Norman contribute papers on serving the pastoral needs of cohabiting couples and an analysis of Karl Rahner’s methodology.

We also have an antipodean contribution from Australian psychologist-scholar Meredith Secomb, on The Contemplative Foundation for Social Action.

Warm regards,

Matthew Ogilvie

My question for them is this - What about ressourcement? The two, ressourcement and aggiornamento go hand-in-hand. It's not one against the other or one ignoring the other...

Not to defend the indefensible, but couldn't they ask you the same question, since this website is http://ressourcement.blogspot.com?

Well, the title of this site is La Nouvelle Theologie, which is a pretty open term. It's also interesting to note that there are few journals that tie themselves to a particular heurmeneutics. Concilium evokes the Second Vatican council; Communio refers to an ecclesial orientation.
