Ron Paul is right: we have to see U.S. foreign policy with the eyes of others. If and when we do, it would, I hope, be more humane and even "realistic," to use a much-distorted word.

But before everyone starts going ga-ga about Ron Paul, let's beware those posts on the "Chalcedon" site. Everyone should know that that's the site for the Reconstructionist movement, a small but vocal and influential gorup of fundamentalist Protestants who promote the imposition of Mosaic law -- that's juridical as well as moral -- on the nation. (Yes, that includes stoning for offenses, and the acceptance of debt slavery.) They've also held up the Confederate South as a model of "Christian civilization." I'm certainly not accusing Paul of endorsing these ridiculous sentiments, but it should give anyone pause before supporting him.

The videos of Ron Paul linked on the Chalcedon site are from the main-stream media and very much worth watching. Cleary Ron Paul has no affiliation with the Chalcedon Foundation. When you are libertarian you will attract all kinds of folks, both good and bad.

As a point of correction though the Chaledon Foundation and those that lead the movement cannot be properly called "fundamentalist Protestants." Rushdoony, North, Bahnsen, and deMar were/are confessional Christians, specifically Calvinist. And not every Christian who follows the reformed profession of faith embraces theonomy.
