Ben at Faith and Theology blog has announced the arrival of the following book: Francesca Aran Murphy: God Is Not a Story: Realism Revisited. Gotta say: I love the provocative cover: Jacques-Louis David's "beautiful lie" The Death of Marat. To judge a book by the cover, I'd say that the imbecility (i.e. the weakness) of narrative theology is that the power of art, making, fiction, poesis, myth, story, etc. is readily appropriated by the enemies of the Word-made-flesh. As Fr. Giussani has written, "only God's power, no matter where, starts, spreads, and guides Christianity in an individual and in society" (The Journey to Truth Is an Experience, p87).
This blog explores both historical and current events guided by the thought of the leading thinkers, past and present, of this school or movement of theology. Refer to the Classic Posts, Great and Contemporary Thinkers, various links of all kinds, in addition to the Archives themselves. David is the founder and manager of this website, but many friends contribute to it on a regular basis.
