Ressourcement: Beyond Theology

Is Teilhard de Chardin a Ressourcement theolgian?
No. He's an anthropologist.

Is Reinhold Schneider a Ressourcement theologian?
No. He is a historian.

Is Charles Peguy a Ressourcement theologian?
No. He is a poet.

Is George Bernanos a Ressourcement theologian?
No. He is a novelist.

Are Dorothy Day and Peter Maurin Ressourcement theologians?
No. They developed a distinct Christian way of life in the modern world.

All of the above accomplished remarkable syntheses of the Christian faith in their own field. They all practiced a certain ressourcement, in that their efforts were deeply rooted in the Christian tradition. The "return to the sources" of Christian faith is not limited to theology or philosophy but embraces the totality of culture, work, and reality.
