resourcement theology reviewed; Christian realism reconsidered

Spengler has a provocative review of Fergus Kerr's Twentieth-Century Catholic Theologians.

Meanwhile, I ran across the November 2007 article by Paul Elie in The Atlantic. This article proposes that Americans go beyond the partial readings of Reinhold Niebuhr and recover a truly Biblical reading of American history and foreign policy. This article is must reading for thinking about the Iraq war. It's only available by subscription, so go buy it (or go to your library or get a library card so you can get online access).
